Coronavirus update
April 9, 2020
The spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) has resulted in a global pandemic and changed the way that we have lived our lives as well as how business has been conducted over the last few weeks. Within this environment, Lawter has continued its commitment to both its employees as well as its customers.
In addition to closely monitoring and abiding by all Government mandates, Lawter has put into place ‘work-from-home’ policies for Office workers as well as non-production related personnel. Controls have been put into place at our production facilities, such as the reduced staffing levels, safe-distancing and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment to ensure the continued safety of our employees.
With the exception of our production facility in Argentina which has been included in a country-wide Government mandated shutdown, all production facilities including those in Europe, North America, Asia and New Zealand remain open. It is expected that our site in Argentina will restart on April 13, after the Easter Holidays. In the meantime, the site is shipping products from inventory which will cover us until well after the plant is scheduled to re-start production.
Throughout the pandemic we have been able to fulfill all orders globally. We will continue to monitor our Supply Chain and mitigate any identified risk through appropriate sourcing and inventory management. Also, we have sufficient funds to operate the business. Based on our long standing good relationships with our banks we can obtain support, if needed.
We thank our suppliers for their support and our customers for their business and trust that we will all navigate safely through this situation.
Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your Lawter contact.
Sincerely,
Ichiro Taninaka
President & CEO
